Importance of Underground water:

  • Under-ground water is also very important for the health of nearby forests and ecological system, as plants also need water to survive and the only route they have is through ground.
  • 38 % of "irrigated lands" are produced for irrigation with groundwater.
  • Nearly "half of the groundwater" is used for domestic water supplies.
  • 60% of groundwater treated worldwide is used for agriculture
  • Underground water is one of the most refined sources of water after rain this is the second most pure form of natural water.
  • Groundwater is an important assent to a region's water supply, especially areas that don’t have any nearby rivers flowing through them. In some case of droughts when even the rivers dry up, the stored groundwater is the only means of freshwater.
