The Universal Law of Gravitation was developed by Issac Newton, one of the foremost scientists of all time. His observations began when he noticed that everything on earth was pulled towards it.
He began working on what became the basis of modern science describing on every Body of mass has a gravitational Pull and the this pull is directly relative to the mass of the object.
These observations laid the foundation for modern potential and kinetic energy theories, friction and even space exploration

According to Newton's law of gravitation, "Every body in universe attracts every other body with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them."
F=Gm1m2/r^2
where G is gravitational constant.
Importance of Universal law of Gravitation:
***************************************************
1.Newton used his theory of gravitation to give the satisfactory explanation of many natural phenomena such as motion of planets around sun.
2. Formation of tides in the sea.
3.Law is used to determine the masses of sun, earth and moon accurately.
4. It also helps in discovering new stars and planets.
