The Improvements and Merits in Mendeleev periodic table include the following:-
- Mendeleev's Periodic Table was based on the increasing order of atomic mass, where the elements having the same chemical properties belong to the same group.
- The major improvement in the Mendeleev periodic table was that all the elements were rearranged in the increasing order of Atomic number instead of Atomic masses.
- A new group (group 0) was added on the right of the Periodic table which includes all the noble gases, which was discovered by Ramsey.
- Each group or vertical column was further divided into two subgroups, namely A and B.
- Mendeleev also left some blank space in his periodic table by saying some elements were undiscovered at that time, which is a big Merit of Mendeleev's Periodic table.
