PAT translates a range of private IP addresses (such as 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254) to a single public IP address. Most home routers and firewalls sold today are preconfigured to perform NAT, or you can easily enable it, usually through a check box option or setup wizard depending on your router or firewall model.
