An able general and a conquerer, Julius Caesar returns to Rome amidst immense popularity after defeating the sons of Pompey. Jealous of Caesar's growing power and afraid that he might one day become a dictator, Cassius instigates a conspiracy to murder caesar. Ironically, Caesar is murdered at the feet of Pompey's statue, whose sons were defeated by Caesar.
