the irony in the poem is that nothing remains same ...... ozymandias was a mighty king of his time but now when he is dead , his statute is being mixed with sand..also rulers think that they r safe Nd secure but actually they will be broken..and his. mightiness and his power all mixed with sand after this death

The poet has produced a wonderful irony in 'king of kings'. When one looks upon what is written on the base of the statue and then to what has become of the statue and all the surroundings.
