The irony in the poem is that the poet in her childhood never looked after her teeth she never liked brushing her teeth and she too eat alot of candies and chocolate and thus in future she faced many problems with her teeth she faced teeth pain graving ect and thus prevention is better than cure . If she would have took an action in her childhood and had brushed then she would have not faced these problems .
