The Jallianwallah Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919 when Acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered troops of the British Indian Army to fire their rifles into a crowd of unarmed civilians in Jallianwallah Bagh, Amritsar, Punjab, killing at least 400, including 41 children, one only six weeks old. Over 1,000 were injured.

Jalliwanwallah Bagh massacre was an incident held at Amritsar, on 13th April 1919.. On this day, there was a large gathering of people in the bagh for attending baisakhi fair. Among them some leaders were to start a meeting. General Dyer was angried about the meeting. To show their power, he ordered the British Army to call open fire upon the innocent people. The Dyer closed the entrance of the bagh, and started open firing upon the people. Thus, thousands of people were killed.
