Liver is the largest gland present in the human body. It performs the following functions :

• It helps to keep the blood sugar level constant.

• It converts harmful toxins into harmless substances which are excreted out.

• It helps in the elimination of metabolic wastes.

• It helps in the storage of iron, copper, vitamins and many other substances.

• It helps to keep the body temperature constant.
