what is the largest no which when divided with 71 & 126 leaves a remainder 6 & 9 respectively

Dividend=quotient * divisor + remainder 
d=q71+6
d=a126+9
71q+6=126a+9
This is a way you can solve
but is 71 the divisor or dividend here?please say
ill solve further

71=ax+6
126=ay+9
ax=65,ay=117
65=5x13
117=3x3x13
since both have common factor 13
the largest number which divides is 13
(In otherwords just found hcf)
