Let the edge odf the cube be a㎝length of the diagonal is

 \sqrt{3}  =  \sqrt{6}

⇒a =  \sqrt{2} \:  cm

lateral surface area of the cube is 4a²

 = 4 \times ( \sqrt{2}  {)}^{2}

 = 4 \times 2

 = 8  \: {cm}^{3}
