The least count of a standard laboratory micrometre screw gauge is 0.001 cm .

We know ,  Least count of a screw gauge is given as :

L.C=\dfrac{Pitch \ of\ the\ micrometer }{Total\ number \ of \ circular\ scale\ division}     ........ ( 1 )

Here , pitch of the micrometer is the distance travelled in one whole rotation in main scale division .

In standard laboratory , Pitch = 1 mm = 0.1 cm .

Number of circular scale division , N = 100 .

Putting all in equation 1 , we get :

L.C=\dfrac{0.1}{100}\ cm =0.001\ cm\ .

Hence , this is the required solution .
