Given:-

  • Length of rectangle is 10 cm.
  • Breadth of rectangle is 24 cm.

To find:-

  • Length of one diagonal.

Solution:-

  • We know that, All angles of rectangle is of 90°. So we make diagonal so all triangle will be right angled.

By using

Pythagoras theorem that is

 \large \boxed{ \sf  {(Hypotenuse)}^{2} =  {(Base)}^{2}   + (Perpendicular)}

Base = 24 cm

Perpendicular = 10 cm.

Hypotenuse = ?

Put all values in Pythagoras theorem,

 \implies \sf  {(Hypotenuse)}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  +  {(24)}^{2}

 \implies \sf \:  {(Hypotenuse)}^{2}  = 100 + 576

 \implies \sf {(Hypotenuse)}^{2}  =  676

 \implies \sf Hypotenuse  =  \sqrt{676}

 \implies \sf \: Hypotenuse = 26

Therefore,

One diagonal of rectangle is of 26 cm.
