The tree was standing perpendicular to the ground. Hence it forms right angled triangle to the ground.

we can find the Length of the broken part by Pythagoras theorem

=> √15²+20²

=> √225+400

=> √625

=> 25m

total height of the tree = broken part + unbroken part

=> 15m + 25m

=> 40m

I hope it helps you.

Length of broken part and height of full tree is 25 m and 40 m.

Given - Length of unbroken part and distance

Find - Length of broken part and height of full tree

Solution - Let the length of broken part be x. The given image shows formation of a right angled triangle. Hence, x can be calculated through Pythagoras theorem.

x² = 15² + 20²

x² = 225 + 400

x² = 625

x = ✓625

x = 25 m

Height of full tree = length of broken part + length of unbroken prt

Height of full tree = 25 + 15

Height of full tree = 40 m

Hence, length of broken part and height of full tree is 25 m and 40 m.
