Answer:

6cm

Explanation:

Length of a line segment = 10cm

If it is divided into two parts in

the ratio = 2:3

Let first part = 2x ,

second part = 3x

2x+3x = 10cm

=> 5x = 10

=> x = 10/5

=> x = 2 cm

Therefore,

Length of the longer part = 3x

= 3×2 = 6cm

\bf\huge\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\:to\:the\:Question}}}

Line segment is 10cm

Ratio is 2 : 3

Suppose 1st = 2p and second part = 3p

⇒ 2p + 3p = 10cm

⇒ 5p = 10

\bf\huge{\implies p =\dfrac{10}{5}}

⇒ p = 2 cm

Therefore,

Length of the longer part is 3p

= 3 × 2

= 6cm
