There are many lessons which we learn from this chapter.

The first lesson is that we should never make anyone feel lowly about themselves. We should not bully people just because they are poor, belong to a different place or have an unfamiliar name.

Second lesson is that we should never stand by and say nothing if we know that something wrong is happening. We should stand against the wrong done or else we would be considered equally guilty of the crime.

Third lesson is that we should try to accept our mistakes rather than defend ourselves and try to comfort ourselves by giving excuses which Peggy continually did. She tried to make excuses and ignore her faults instead of accepting them.

The fourth lesson is that we should always be ready to forgive and forget as what Wanda did in the end of the story. She forgave both Peggy and Maddie for bullying her and gifted them with her most beautiful dresses.
