 limitations of Newlands law of octave are
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) his law of octaves did not get applied for the atoms with higher masses , it was valid only till calcium

2)he could give the proper placement for the hydrogen in his periodic table , he placed them with fluorine and chlorine but he did not justify the position

3)it was applicable to only the lighter elements but not the higher elements

4)only 56 elements were discovered at that time and many more elements were found later and even those elements did not follow the rule of octaves

5)he placed 2 elements together which have similar properties but some of them were wrong he placed elements with unlike properties together and like properties far away

Hey there !!

▶ Newlands' law of Octaves :-

→ Newland found that every eighth element had properties similar to that of the first. He compared these to the octaves found in music. Therefore, he called it is the ‘ Law of Octaves’. It is known as ‘ Newlands'law of octaves ’ .

 \bf \underline{ \implies Limitations \: of \: Newlands' \: law \: of \: Octaves .}

→ Law of Octaves only applicable upto calcium and after calcium every 8th did not possess properties similar to that of the first.

→ At the time of Newlands' only 56 elements were existed in nature and Newlands'assume that no more elements will be discovered the future.

→ But, later on , several new elements were discovered, whose properties did not fit into the law of octaves.

→ One important demerit of Newlands' law that he adjusted two elements in the same slot such as Cobalt and nickel [ Co and Ni ] .

→ With the discovery of noble gases the law of octaves become irrelevant.

→ Newlands'law of Octaves worked well with lighter elements only.

✔✔ Hence, it is solved ✅✅.
