‘Haritha Haram’ is a project implemented by the Government of Telangana, to plant trees on a large scale and thereby increase green cover by 24% to 33%. It was launched in 2015 by the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. It also plans to rejuvenate degraded forests and set up green cover over wastelands.
The slogans ‘Don’t let our future dry up’ and ‘Protect our earth today, for our children’s tomorrow’ aptly sums up the aim of this movement.
