a lot of the known elements are extracted from rocks, some on the surface of the earth's crust, some you have to dig deep down. there are where isotopes are made, other isotopes may be the result of radioactive decay over a few seconds to billions of years.

Isotopes means nothing but they have same atomic number but different mass number that means they have same number of protons but they don't have same number of neutrons as that of protons. So because of existing extra neutrons only isotopes are existing.Isotopes means nothing but they have same atomic number but different mass number that means they have same number of protons but they don't have same number of neutrons as that of protons. So because of existing extra neutrons only isotopes are existing.
