A CV or Curriculum Vitae is a comprehensive document that covers all the positions that you have worked in your career. It includes voluntary work, military work, internships, and all other relevant positions.
On the other hand, the resume is a document that is specific to a job that you are applying for. For e.g. You may have worked in different departments as part of your career, say HR, Administration and Finance and Accounts. You may apply be applying for a job in finance and accounts, then, your resume will highlight your experience only in this field, while briefly touching your experience in other areas.
So, you can have more than one resume, but only one CV.
As a fresher, your resume and CV are necessarily the same, but as you gain experience, these documents diverge.
