what is the main difference between federal form of government and unitary form of government.explain with example

The central government can pass any order to the provincial or the local level . But in federal system the central government cannot order the state government to do something..

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:-
1.In federal form of government there is more than one level of government.

2. Powers are divided among various level of government.

3.Union government cannot pass orders to state governments.

Ex:- Government of India.

UNITARY GOVERNMENT:-

1. There is only one level of government or another levels of government are subordinate to central government.

2.Powers are not divided. Union government holds all powers.

3. Union government can pass order to other level of government.

Ex:- Government of Sri Lanka.
