The brain is protected inside a bony box called cranium. The cranium is part of the skull that holds and protects the brain in a large cavity. Inside the box, the brain is contained in a fluid-filled balloon which provides further shock absorption. This fluid filled is cerebrospinal fluid.
Fibrous joints or fixed joints are found in the flat skull bones which fuse end-to-end with the help of dense fibrous connective tissues in the form of sutures, to form the cranium.
