Litti is a complete meal by itself and is mostly consumed in the Indian states of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. This dish is also popular in Madhesh, a Nepalese state.
The main ingredient in litti is whole wheat flour. It is stuffed with roasted chickpea flour and mixed with various spices and herbs based on tastes and preferences. Some of these herbs and spices included salt, ginger, garlic, onion, nigella and carom seeds, and lime juice.
Litti is often served with a creamy chicken curry for non-vegetarian food lovers or chokha for vegetarians.
