The main limitation of using a volumetric flask is that we can not measure large volumes.
- Volumetric flask is a lab apparatus used for the measurement of liquid solutions.
- It consists of a flat bottomed flask with an elongated neck with markings on it.
- But the capacity of Volumetric flask is usually very less because as size increases its handling becomes difficult.
- So measuring large volumes using volumetric flasks is practically difficult.
- If we have to measure larger volumes we have to split them into smaller volumes.
- There are also possibilities of random errors resulting from the production process.
- In volumetric flasks while checking the lower meniscus, the flask should be held at eye level.
- Otherwise error will occur.
- These are some other disadvantages of volumetric flasks.
