Basagong Palayok is a game widely played in the Phillippines during fests. It is similar to the Pinata game of Mexico. The meaning of Basagong Palayok is to "break the clay pot"

In this game, a clay pot filled with goodies is usually hung overhead. A person is blindfolded and asked to aim at the pot and break it. The goodies usually consist of candies, chocolate and edible items. Sometimes the pot also consists of powder.

Nowadays, this game is being reinvented with variations and introducted in classrooms. Instead of the goodies, flash cards and picture cards are put in a oversized hat and then the child is blindfolded and asked to pick a card. This is done in order to make the classroom learning more effective and fun.
