  • Chlorophyllous plants make their own food by photosynthesis, from water and minerals drawn from the soil. They are autotrophic. In contrast, heterotrophic plants are incapable of feeding themselves. They draw all or part of their nutrition from other living beings.

  • If the plant does not have stem,how it will stand.
  • If a plant does not have roots,how it will get minerals from soil.
  • If a plant does not have leaf,how it will make food.

Therefore all the parts are issential of plant.

Autotrophic plants: Those plants which make their own food by the process of photosynthesis by (water, sunlight and carbon dioxide ) are called autotrophic plants.

For example: mango tree, bnanana tree,apple tree ,herbs , rose plant , lotus plant etc. all are autotrophic plants.

Heterotrophic plants: Those plants which are depend on the other plants or take the nutrition of it ,are called heterotrophic plants.

For example, mould,fungi ,pitcher plant etc. all are heterotrophic plants.
