Well a common answer to the above two questions is to communicate.
We learn human readable language to communicate with other people...
We learn basic definitions of science like velocity,acceleration,distance etc to communicate with the science subject and explore it deeply.We learn simple maths definitions and formulae to solve problems and explore more things deeply....
Likewise we learn computer language like Java,C++ etc to communicate with the computer system and explore it more deeply by solving problems of practical world,creating softwares for the communication of a person with the computer etc.....
