The main purpose of giving homework to children is to let them evaluate the lessons themselves.
Explanation:
- A teacher explains any lesson to his/her students as much carefully as possible so that students understand them. Upto this, things are good.
- A student comes back home and starts doing his/her own works instead of studying the lessons. This happens to the students who haven't yet understood the importance of re-reading anything or not yet ready to be responsible for the growth of their own knowledge.
- There comes the part of homework and students are forced to do them and this certainly helps them to evaluate their own study.
- Well we cannot judge the good or bad sides of homework since everything has to offer something good and something bad and this is upto us what we take in.
