RDA-Harris Architects was appointed as Lead Urban Design consultant by Putrajaya Holdings, the master developer of Putrajaya. The principal role was to refine the master plan and to prepare urban design guidelines for the Township, including the surrounding residential areas.
The master plan was refined to include a 'Qiblah' axis which transversed the main Boulverd axis. Thus the 'city centre' and the 'Grand Square' was formed.
The urban design exercise established the 'Core Island' various precinct character and identity, water edges, landscape and open spaces, the skylline, the framework of the city among others.
