HEYA!!

In the upper course , the river carries sediments which are deposited layer by layer over period of time. Thus apart from having a fertile alluvial soil, they also help in land formation. As the river moves through the upper course, it cuts downwards. The gradient here is steep and the river channel is narrow.

In the lower course of the river, the land is low, flat or gently sloping, and the temperatures are extremely warm. The soil is often deep and fertile and hence the land is best suited for intensive agriculture. Close to the river where the land might be marshy or at risk of flooding might be used as permanent pasture for livestock. Thus in this stage, erosion is not favorable and hence not the main work of the river.
