the main tension between the dutch and the french speaking in belgium was about the capital city brussels because the french were a majority there and the dutch who was the majority in the country was a minority in the capital

THIS IS BECAUSE THE MINORITY FRENCH SPEAKING COMMUNITY WAS RELATIVELY RICH AND POWER FUL . THIS WAS RESENTED BY THE DUTCH SPEAKING COMMUNITY WHO GOT THE BENEFITS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION MUCH LATER.
