what is the major difference between a solution and an ordinary mixture​

a solution is homogenous while the mixture may be homogenous or heterogeneous.

a solution can't be separated by normal methods like filteration, etc.. while the mixture can be separated by normal methods.

Answer: solution is homogeneous mixture in which solute and solvent can not be seperate out like salt in water,sugar in water etc. while a mixture may contain any type of solute and solvent either they can be seperate or not.
