On Wednesday, April 18, 2018,fans in China and all around the world voted for Son of Dreams and Son of Dreams was unveiled as the competition's official mascot.
For Mascot FIBA proposed the simple criteria and invited people to propose their design.
A committee consisting of FIBA, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and professors from the Chinese Central Academy of Fine Art finalized three designs Son of Dreams, QiuQiu and Speed Tiger and after which fans were invited to vote.
