● Solution :-
We need to find the mass of 5 moles of water (H₂O)
As we know that ,
1 mole of water = 18 grams of water
∵ 1 H₂O = 2[ 1 ] + [ 16 ] = 2 + 16 = 18 g
Let the mass of 5 moles of H₂O be ‘x’
Now , writing the given question in the mathematical form ,
◉ 1 : 5 : : 18 : x
By multiplying means & extremes
Here ,
- Means → 5 , 18
- Extremes → x , 1
⇒ 18 × 5 = x × 1
⇒ x = 90g
Hence , mass of 5 moles of H₂O = 90g
