Given:

  • Weight (w) = 980 N
  • Acceleration due to the gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

To Find Out:

  • What is the actual mass of the body?

Solution:

The mass of a body is constant and doesn't change from place to place.

w = m × g

where as:

  • W = Weight
  • m = Mass
  • g = Acceleration due to Gravity

After substituting values;

➥ W = M × g

➥ 980 = m × 9.8

➥ 980/9.8 = m

➥ m = 100 kg

Hence,

The actual Mass of the Body is 100 kilograms.
