a) 16g ( g for grams )

a) the 1 molar mass has the same magnitude for the respective substance as it has in its molecular or atomic mass but the unit changes to gram.

b) Molecular mass of water = 2amu of H2 + 16amu of oxygen i.e. 18amu

now 0.5 means half molar mass = 0.5 × 18 = 9grams
