Law of definite proportion states that elements always combine in the definite ratio by mass. So it is in agreement with the law of definite proportion.

Mass ratio ….

NH3 …. one mole of ammonia has a mass of 17.0g.

The nitrogen in one mole of ammonia has a mass of 14.0g

the hydrogen a mass of 3.0g.

Mass ratio of nitrogen to hydrogen = 14.0 / 3.0 = 4.67
