DIAMETER OF THE RAINDROP

The average diameter of a raindrop is 0.5mm.although the diameter of the droplets differ in size but we call it a raindrop as soon as it reaches the size of 0.5mm, as it grows bigger than that, it splits into two

smaller droplets are usually consumed by the larger droplets untill some point that they cant hold on anymore and fall back to the ground as rain water, the process by which raindrops come together is known as coalescence

in order to have rain, there must be cloud that is made up of water vapor, together with water are other tiny droplets known as the condensation nuclei, this includes the tiny particles of salt left over after sea evaporates
