To find:

The maximum resistance one can make with ten 1 ohm resistors ?

Calculation:

When resistors are attached in to end such that the current in each of the resistors remains same, we call the combination as series combination.

Now , in series combination the equivalent resistance of the circuit is algebraic addition of the individual resistance.

So, maximum resistance can be obtained only when those 10 given resistors are arranged in series combination.

Let the equivalent resistance be R

 \therefore \: R = R_{1} + R_{2}..... + R_{10}

 \implies \: R = 1 + 1 + 1..... \: 10 \: times

 \implies \: R = 10 \: ohm

So , max resistance obtained by connecting the ten resistances are 10 ohm.
