Answer:

Radius of sphere = 1/2 x side of cube

= 1/2 x 10

= 5 cm

Volume = 4/3 x 22/7 x 125

= 523.8 cm^3

The maximum volume of a sphere which is carved from a cube one edge is 10cm is 523.6 cm^3.

  • Let the radius of the sphere of maximum volume is r cm.
  • Now it's given that the length of one edge is 10 cm. So the volume of the cube is = 10^{3}= 1000 cm^{3} .
  • Now the volume of the sphere is  \frac{4}{3}\pi  r^{3} cm^{3}
  • For maximum sphere edge of the cube = diameter of the sphere
  • So 10=2r or r = 5 cm
  • So the maximum volume = \frac{4}{3}\pi  (5) ^{3} cm^{3} = 523.6 cm^{3}
