Mean is also known as average. Average of any data is given by the sum of data by number of data.

So here we are asked of the mean of first eight composite numbers.

First eight composite numbers are :

4,6,8,9,10,12,14,15

Then mean =

 \frac{sum \: of \: data}{ number \: of \: data} \\ \\ \frac{4 + 6 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 12 + 14 + 15}{8} \\ \\ = \frac{78}{8} =9.75

The mean so required is 9.75
