mean proportional of two numbers "a" and "b"

x / a = b / x

here , a = 27 , b = 48

so now ,

x / 27 = 48 / x

by cross multiplication ,we get

x^2 = 27 × 48

x^2 = 1296

x = √1296

x = 36

hence , the mean proportional of 27 and 48 is 36.
