                      Phrase Define

A phrase is a small group of word that does not makes complete sense. It is a part of a sentence. It does no have a finite verb. It contains a non-finite verb , an infinitive, participle or gerund.

Example:

2 subordinate or dependent clause.

A clause that has a subject and a finite verb and makes a complete sense itself, is called main or independent or principal clause.

A clause that needs a principal clause to make a complete sense and thus not stand on its own , is called subordinate or dependent clause.
