1) This bleeding bark means "a place/part of a tree" Which is on the place where the axe is hit on the treee.
2) Example we can take this as "would of the tree" or "chopped area of the trees".

"Bleeding bark" refers to the cutting of the tree with heavy and unbearable blows i.e the axe. The continuous and rough blows of an axe by the wood cutter make the tree bleed
