I think it basically means that we're not supposed to be aiming to succeed or fail at anything in life, but live for life itself.
"Not enjoyment, and not sorrow" = nothing good or bad, nothing won or lost
"Is our destined end or way" = is what we're meant to be doing
"That each tomorrow find us farther than today" = this feels sort of like.. living into the future. Living for the sake of living and living farther ahead of ourselves every day. Not living for what's in front of your nose, so to speak, but for what's way up in the distance.
