The sultans of delhi built many cities in which one of the city was Delhi-i-Kuhna. This Delhi-i-Kuhna means an old city.

EXPLANATION:

Large part of 'subcontinent' does not comes under the control of the Delhi Sultans since it was difficult to control the eastern part such as Bengal and southern part after annexing it , the entire region became independent.

The forested areas of Gangetic plains were yet to be conquered by them. These areas were ruled by the local chieftains.
