If you drop any object from certain height..it approaches the ground only influenced by Force of gravity...Which means during the fall of a body..there has to be only a single force..no other force is being considered..if there can be neglected like Resitive force of air...
So a Body is said to be in free fall if it falls under the force of gravity...During free fall..it accelerates due to this force..so called acceleration due to gravity...
