Meaning of Fundamental Rights

Fundamental rights are the basic claims of the people for their well being and all round development.

The fundamental rights in the constitution include:-

1)Right to Equality

All people are equal before the law.No citizen of the country should discriminated on the basis of religion, caste, economic and social background ,etc

2)Right to Freedom  

This include the right to freedom of speech and expression, the right to form associations, the right to move freely and reside in any part of the country, and the right to practice any profession,occupation or business.

3)Right against Exploitation

The Constitution prohibits forced labor, and children working under 14 years of age.

4)Right to Freedom of Religion

Every citizen has the right to practice, profess and propagate the religion of their choice.

5)Cultural and Educational Rights

The Constitution states that all minorities, religious or linguistic, can set up their own educational institutions in order to preserve and develop their own culture.

6) Right to Constitutional Remedies

This allows citizens to move to the court if they believe that any of their Fundamental Rights have been violated by the state.This Fundamental Right is considered as the Fundamental Right for the protection of Fundamental Rights.Through this right Fundamental Rights are made sure to us.

The fundamental rights are important because they provide the citizens of a country with human dignity and development of personality of every individual. They guarantee civil liberties in order to sustain peace and harmony among the citizens of a nation. The fundamental rights are also defined as the basic human rights given to enjoy the freedom.In the case of India, fundamental rights have also been included to reduce inequality amongst different groups and classes.
