Generally, a **Granum can be defined as a complete stack of Thalakoids in a Chloroplast.

Extra Information :-

  • About 40-60 *Grana are present in one Chloroplast.

  • 2 **Granum are interconnected by a Stroma lamella. Such an interconnection is called a "Fruct channel".

  • About 2-100 Thalakoids are stacked to form one **Granum.

  • Light reaction of Photosynthesis takes place in the *Grana.

  • *Grana are absent in the bundle sheath of "C4 plant" and in the Chloroplast of "Algae".
