Answer:

The solids which absorbs water and swells up are called imbibiants. Now coming to actual answer.. The imbibiants after the imbibition process exerts some pressure. That pressure is termed as imbibition pressure. One example of imbibition that is found in nature is the absorption of water by hydrophilic colloids.
